Here at Kismet Studios, we specialize in portrait photography, with an emphasis on documenting all things love - engagements and weddings give me life.
My name is Jennifer Cortes and I am the the owner and lead photographer at Kismet Studios. Houston, Texas is home, but I serve couples no matter where they are located.
Your story is unique and all your own. You are the author and my job is to illustrate that story in a way that does your life and love justice. My goal is to create something far beyond an Instagram post...it's to create something that will make you laugh, cry, and smile. Not just when you first receive you gallery, but during all the years to come.

I have always been a lover of words and a believer of the power that they hold. In the words of Albus Dumbledore "Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. "
The word Kismet is one of those words for me...one that holds so much meaning and magic. I lost my father at the age of 4. I never got to truly know him or have him be a part of my life. That is, until a few years ago when I discovered his old camera and photographs...he had been a photographer too. I started my photography journey without even knowing about my father's love for this art form, thinking it was a random choice. I know better now. I now know that it is something that was passed down to me, something I was meant to do, that documenting life and love with my camera was fate.
So why Kismet Studios? Because the name encompasses the fact that I was always meant to be a photographer and the piece of my father's legacy I carry every time I use my camera. It also encompasses my favorite thing to photograph...beautiful couples who found each other in this big, crazy world and are saying "I do" to each other and to forever.
If that isn't kismet, I don't know what is.

From having photographed many weddings to being able to look back on my parent's wedding photos, I can't help but feel that there is an undeniable sense of magic to someone's big day.
Living those moments leading up to the aisle, the joy of saying "I do.", and all of the fun that comes afterwards are once in a lifetime feelings...feelings that if it weren't for photography, would only continue to exist in your heart and mind.
My love for wedding photography comes from being able to turn those feelings and memories into tangible and relivable moments. After the cake is eaten and the flowers wither, all that will be left are the photographs for you to look back on.
My goal is to capture your in day in a way that is so authentic, so raw, and so real, that looking through your photographs almost brings the smell of the flowers, the music, and all of the joy and love from the day back to you so you can relieve the most magical day of your live over and over again.
